Riding School

At Pathhead, horses aren’t just part of the place—they are the place. Our yard is open, welcoming, and full of friendly faces (human and horse alike). Whether you’re brushing up on your riding skills or just getting started, we’re here to help you feel right at home in the saddle.

Riding Lessons

We offer riding lessons for all ages and experience levels—whether you’re a total beginner, a rusty returner, or somewhere in between.

Prefer a quiet 1-to-1? We’ve got you. Fancy learning alongside others? Our group lessons are perfect for that bit of extra buzz. Lessons run for 30 minutes to an hour, and they’re designed to be fun, friendly, and always safe.

Before booking, all new riders will need to fill in a quick registration form (click here to fill in the form)—just so we know how best to support you and keep everyone safe in the saddle.

  • Private or group lessons
  • All ages and abilities welcome
  • 30 or 60-minute sessions

Hacking & Trekking

We’re lucky to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful glens and country roads in the area—and our horses know them like the back of their hooves.

From gentle ambles to full-on adventures, we’ve got a ride to suit every rider:

  • Half & Half Hack - Start in the school, then head out along our farm tracks-ideal for beginners or mixed level groups
  • Longer Rides (up to 3 hours) – For confident riders ready to explore further afield it's a chance to get out, breathe in, and ride on.
  • Specailst rides - for example Glamis Castle, Airlie Monument (dates may be allocated) can be arranged by appointment in advance.

Pony Rides

Perfect for little legs and new riders, our pony rides are short, gentle, and led by our kindest, most easy-going ponies.

We offer rides of varying lengths, so there’s something for every confidence level. Expect lots of smiles—and probably a few giggles too.

Adopt a Pony for the Day

Ever wondered what it’s like to have a pony of your own? Now’s your chance.

Spend a day with one of our lovely ponies and learn how to feed, care for, groom—and of course, ride them. It’s a hands-on, heartwarming experience that’s ideal for beginners and those who want to learn more about life beyond the saddle.

Pony Club

We’ve been a proud Pony Club Centre here at Pathhead for over 20 years, and we love seeing young riders grow in confidence and knowledge through this brilliant programme.

We run regular activities for members and host Pony Club Camps in Spring, Summer, and Autumn—open to both members and non-members.

Want to know more about joining or booking a camp? Just get in touch—we’re happy to chat.

Other Services

Need a space to school your horse? We hire out both our indoor and outdoor arenas as well as our jumping paddock.

We also offer trailer hire for two-horse transport.
